Both recent release films “HIT: The First Case” and “Shabaash Mithu” had opened to a dismal start at the box office despite receiving mostly positive reviews from the critics. Both failed to garner the footfalls of their target audience towards the ticket windows.
However, Rao starrer is earning almost double than Shabaash Mithu, the collections of it are also on the lower side. HIT and SM failed to meet the expectations of the fans. Taapsee led is a high-cost film as far as an actress’s film is concerned, it is made with a budget Rs 25-30 Crs, still showing no sign of making it big.
On the other, HIT: the first case is very crucial for Rajkummar Rao as the actor has seen 8 flops in a row and it is his chance to break the string of flops, but seems like it will become his 9th flop film.

Box Office Collection (Fri & Sat)
Rajkummar’s Hit has seen the opening of Rs 1.15 Cr and showing a growth of 48.88% in collections on the next day, it garnered Rs 2.01 Cr on Sat to take the total collections around Rs 2.5 Cr. While Tapsee led collected Rs 60-65 Lakhs on Day 2 after seeing a dull opening of just 40 Lakhs.
The target audience of both these two new releases is the class audience at the multiplex and that’s why the national chains are the key contributors to its collections.

Box Office Collection Day 3
Taapsee’s film is a sports film, we have seen Jersey and ’83 failing at the box office, the latter two films are the biggies and had big names behind them. Taapsee’s film is not that big in terms of production and marketing and likely meets the same fate. As per the early trade estimation, it earned around Rs 60 Lakhs on Day 3 to take the total collection to Rs 1.65 crores.
While Rao’s film Hit is a remake, in past Jersey and Nikamma got rejected by the audience, they both were the remake of south Indian films. It saw an overall occupancy of 16.58% and accumulated Rs 2.30 Cr to take the total collections around Rs 5.6 Cr, as per the early trade estimation.
The weekend was crucial for both the movies as major growth during the weekend boosts a film’s business but both the flicks failed to seize the opportunity. Now, they have a run for just 5 days more until Ranbir’s Shamshera arrives. Also Read: Shamshera Box Office Prediction, Advance Bookings, Screen Counts, Budget &More
