After the success of 2020 Telugu action thriller film HIT: The First Case, the makers decided to deliver the second installment of the franchise which is titled ‘HIT: The Second Case’. The film was released on Dec 2 and emerged as a hit at the box office.
Sailesh Kolanu, who directed as well as wrote the first part helmed the second installment as well. The film’s title is an acronym for “Homicide Intervention Team”. Hit-2 was opened with rave reviews from critics & the audience alike and went on to become a commercial success at the box office in Telugu states.
HIT: The Second Case Cast & Crew
- Actor Adivi Sesh of Goodachari (2018) and Evaru (2019) fame is playing the lead as Police officer Krishna Dev (KD), he has replaced actor Vishwak Sen who played police officer Vikram Rudraju in the first part. Sen said that he missed out on the sequel due to scheduling conflicts, and wished he would be part of HIT 3rd and 4th part.
- Model and actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, who represent the state of Haryana at the Femina Miss India 2018 pageant has been cast as the leading lady opposite Adivi Sesh
- Actor Bhanu Chander is reprising his role as K. Vishwanath

The film is presented by Telugu actor and Producer Nani while Prashanti Tipirneni is producing the film under Nani’s Wall poster Cinema. The upcoming film is their third venture after 2018 film “Awe” and “HIT: The First Case”. On the technical front, S. Manikandan and Garry BH are taking care of cinematography and editing respectively while the film’s music is composed by John Stewart Eduri.
HIT: The Second Case OTT Release Date
On May 2, 2022, the makers of this action thriller film announced a release date with its first look that features the film’s lead Adivi Sesh in a serious an intense look. It was released theatrically on July 29, 2022.
Talking about its post-theatrical release, like the film’s previous part, it will also stream on Amazon Prime Video. The film is now available for rent on Amazon Prime at Rs 129. Hit 2 will be streaming soon on Amazon Prime from Jan 6, 2022, for free.

Hit 2 is made on an estimated budget of 15 crores, and it collected over 41.85 crores at the box office becoming a hit venture at the box office.
The second installment of the franchise was announced by Nani title HIT: The Second Case in February 2021, one year after the release of the first installment. It was launched in March 2021 with a formal Pooja Ceremony and the filming took place in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
About the Film
The story of the first film was centered around a cop in the Crime Investigation Department Working in the Homicide Intervention Team (HIT). He is very smart and sharp in solving crucial cases with his ability to capture even the smallest of details. He has been working on a case of a missing woman while constantly fighting a battle with his past. Although the story of the first film was left on a cliffhanger, it is that HIT: The Second Case will not focus on what happened after the first film.
The first part was theatrically released on February 28, 2020 and opened to highly positive reviews from the critics and audiences. It was remade in Hindi with the same title starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra which was released in 2022.
