Directed and written by Brij Mohan Amar Rahe (2018) fame Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Hurdang is an upcoming romantic comedy thriller movie.
It is backed by Bollywood’s popular filmmaker Bhushan Kumar in association with Shailesh R. Singh’s Karma Media and Entertainment as well as Hitesh Thakkar. Shiv Chanana is one of the co-producers while Tripur Singh has served as the executive producer.
On technical front, the cinematography of the film is jointly handled by Ramanuj Dutta and Archit Patel while Bodhaditya Banerjee has edited it.
Further, Bollywood’s young and popular composer and singer Amaal Malik has composed the music along with composer husband-wife duo Sachet Tondon and Parampara Thakur, popularly known as Sachet-Parampara.
Hurdang Star Cast
The film has a young and talented star cast, and their names are given here:
- The film stars Bollywood’s young actor Sunny Kaushal, the younger brother of Uri fame Vicky Kaushal, in the male lead role as Daddu Thakur. Sunny also stars in 2020 action film Bhangra Paa Le and 2021 romantic drama Shiddat.
- Pyar Ka Punchnama fame actress Nushrratt Bharuccha will play opposite Sunny Kaushal as Jhulan. She is well-known for her notable work in movies like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, Chhalaang and Netflix’s hit films Ajeeb Daastaans and Chhorii.
- Actor Vijay Varma, who also appeared as a quintessential “baddie” in A Suitable Boy, She and Mirzapur 2, will also play the key role in the film as Loha Singh

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the makers of the movie released the exciting trailer of this romantic thriller. Set in 1990s Allahabad, the film’s trailer starts with lead actor Sunny Kaushal introducing himself as Daddu Thakur, who wants to be an IAS Officer.
It also shows Nushrratt as Daddu’s love interest, Jhulan, with whom he has been in an on and off relationship for the last 10 years. The trailer shows the students fighting against the government. who has passed the cast based reservation commission.
In our opinion the 3 minute long trailer looks promising as it highlights the problems students have to face due to the cast based reservation.
Hurdang Release Date
On Tuesday, March 29, the makers made the announcement regarding the release date of the movie with a poster featuring the lead star cast including Sunny, Nushrratt and Vijay Varma. Now, the film has been released theatrically on Friday, April 8, 2022.
Earlier, on March 21, 2022, the makers of the movie also released the first romantic track titled Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, which is sung by Armaan Malik, composed by Amaal Mallik , the lyrics are penned by Rashmi Virag and Anand Bakshi, it’s one of top chartbuster nowadays.
