Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, Jana Gana Mana is a Malayalam drama film stars popular and dashing actor, director, producer, playback singer Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role.
In his 20 year long acting career, Sukumaran appeared in more than 100 films. Apart from Malayalam films, he also appeared in few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.
He made his Bollywood debut with 2012 parody film Aiyyaa, alongside Bengali beauty Rani Mukerji. After that he appeared in another Bollywood film Naam Shabana along side Taapsee Pannu and Akshay Kumar.
Sukumaran was last seen in Bro Daddy along with megastar Mohanlal. The film was released on Disney+ Hotstar on January 26, 2022. Jana Gana Mana was highly-anticipated projects of Sukumaran, depict a face off between a criminal and a cop.

For this, Prithviraj Sukumaran is teased up with multiple award-winning actor, comedian and television presenter Suraj Venjaramoodu, after 2019’s Malayalam comedy drama film Driving License, which was a box-office hit.
It also stars Mamta Mohandas, Sri Divya, Dhruvan, Shari, Shammi Thilakan, Raja Krishnamoorthy in the key roles. The film is directed by Dijo Jose Antony who made his directorial debut with 2018 thriller Queen, starring Saniya Iyappan in the lead role.
The screenplay of the film is written by Sharis Mohammed and it is produced by Listen Stephen and Supriya Menon, who is the wife of the lead actor Prithiviraj Sukumaran, under their own banner Prithviraj Productions. Justin Stephen has served as co-producer in the film.
On technical front, cinematography is handled by Sudeep Elamon while Sreejith Sarang edited the film. The music is produced, composed and arranged by Jakes Bejoy.
Jana Gana Mana Theatre & OTT Release Date
To announce the release date, makers of the movie released a poster, revealing the film’s release date on Sunday, March 6, 2022. The poster features Prithiviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the fierce and intense side face look.
The poster reveals that the film will be released worldwide on April 28, 2022 on the big screen. The lead actors duo also shared the poster from their respective social media handles with caption “In matters of conscience, the law of the majority has no place” – Mahatma Gandhi”.
After big screens, the movie is all set to release on OTT on 2nd of June 2022, it will be released in the multiple languages on the leading streaming platform Netflix (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannnada)

Earlier, on January 26, 2021, the makers of the movie had revealed an exciting and intriguing promo of the movie. This nearly two minute and thirty minute long promo video was released on official youtube channel of Magic Frames.
The gripping video features Prithviraj as a crime suspect and Suraj Venjarammoodu as a cop. It shows an interrogation scene between the duo.
