Ranveer Singh is back on the big screens with Divyang Thakkar’s directorial social comedy film Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The trailer of the film had been unveiled almost one month ago, and it had gotten a decent response from the viewers.
The advance bookings had indicated that the film seems not to create much anticipation amongst the cinephiles. The film hadn’t any pre-screening but going by trailer, it seems a message-driven film in a comical way and is meant for the multiplex audience.
Screen Counts
As per the media reports, the film is released on 2250 screens domestically and worldwide on 3500 screens. Overseas screen counts are 1250. The film becomes crucial for the industry as it suffered losses from Runway 34, Attack, Jersey, and Heropanti2.
Box Office Collection
Ranveer’s past 7 films saw the double-digit opening but those were big-ticket film and was released in pre-pandemic times barring ’83, earlier we had said that going by the trend Ranveer’s film will open with Rs 4.5 crores nett opening, or Rs 5 crores at most.
Now as per the latest report, his film opened with a disappointing start, it raked in only Rs 3.25 Cr nett much less from the estimation. Jayeshbhai Jordaar becomes Ranveer’s second-lowest opening film of his career.
His career’s second film Lady Vs Ricky Behal had an opening of Rs 4.74 Crs and we are talking about the year 2011, now after over a decade, the actor has seen the lowest figures.

Its business will increase or decrease will depend on positive or negative word of mouth, and it seems the WOM are mostly negative.
Trade analysts had estimated that the film will earn lower than his 2011’s Lootera which had an opening of Rs 5.15 Cr and was the third-lowest opener in Ranveer’s career. But Ranveer’s latest outing has an opening lower than the analyst’s estimation.
Star Cast of Jayeshbhai Jordaar
Talking about the film, it will see Ranveer in a changed look and has roped in the south actress Arjun Reddy fame Shalini, she will be essaying Ranveer’s wife role as Mudra Patel. Ranveer is playing the titular character Jayeshbhai. Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, Smay Raj Thakkar, Jia Vaidya, and Ragi Jani are also playing key roles.

The filming was completed in 2020 and scheduled to release in 2020 but the covid pandemic pushed back the release to Aug 21 and then Feb 2022, again the third wave put a hold on its release, and later makers went for a 13 May 2022 release.
