Talking about the buzz, there is a dull response for the film in advance bookings but the film got mixed to the positive response from the critics and the media from the special screenings.

Amar Ujala gave the film 4 out of 5 stars, Prabhat Khabar 3.5/5 stars, TOI 3.5/5, Pinkvilla 3.5 out of 5, Koimoi 3.5/5 stars, and Lehren gave 3 out of 5 stars, they praised Shahid’s performance as Arjun Talwar and the direction of Gautam Tinnanuri. The film is the remake of a hit Tollywood film, so we expect that the storyline of the film will be good.
While Movie critic Taran Adarsh gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5, Sumit Kadel 3.5/5 and Rohit Jaiswal gave 4/5 stars, they also praised the performance and the narration.
Screen Counts
Jersey was released on over 2200 screens in the northern belt and as expected the film has failed in front of the Yash starrer as the exhibitors are not at all interested to showcase Jersey.
Box Office Collection
As we mentioned above the Tinnanuri directorial received rave reviews from the media fraternity but there is no buzz among the cinephiles for the film as far as the advance bookings of the film are concerned.
Now the early reports suggest that the film raked in Rs 4 Cr at the box office on Day 1, which is far less than what was expected by the trade analyst, Jersey was expected to start with Rs 6 Cr.
Let’s see if the film witness more footfalls in the coming days at the ticket windows or not as the film received positive reviews, it will be interesting to see whether the word of mouth converts the first weekend to over Rs 15 Cr or not.
