Tinanuri’s south remake seems not to impress the Hindi audience as the film has minted only around Rs 15 Cr nett in its three-day opening weekend.
Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey was opened with below-expected figures of only Rs 5.75 Cr, the film saw no major growth in remaining two days of its opening weekend.
The sports drama ended up collecting only Rs 14.75 Cr nett(Rs 17.56 Cr gross) on the first weekend at the box office, it collected around Rs 1 crore from overseas in three day BO run, taking the total gross collection to Rs 18.56 crores.
Now, it seems the hope of its collecting Rs 50 crores seems to have extinct as the film is not able to pull the footfalls at the ticket counters, earlier it was being expected that the positive word of mouth will pull some crowd but it seems there is no craze about the film among the cinephiles.
The overall collection of the film will reach around Rs 28 to 30 Cr nett, as from Friday onwards two more biggies arriving at the box office namely Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn starrer Runway 34, which exhibitors will prefer more to showcase.
As per the early reports, the sports drama collected around Rs 1.75crore on Monday (Day 4) from the domestic market, making the total collection around Rs 16.50 crores at the BO India.

Jersey is a sports drama written and directed by Gautam Tinnanuri who also helmed the superhit Telugu film of the same name in the year 2018, Shahdi starrer serves as Tinnanuri’s 2018 flick. It revolves around a former Ranji star player Arjun Talwar (portrayed by Shahid), who holds a dream to play for the Indian cricket team one day but couldn’t owing to the rigged cricket association, his dream revives again when his son asked him for Indian cricket journey.
