Jigarthanda Double X Release Date, OTT, Star Cast, Trailer, Plot, Makers & More

Director Karthik Subbaraj, who delivered 2014’s massive hit Tamil action comedy drama Jigarthanda, is set to come up with its highly anticipated sequel titled Jigarthanda Double X.

Along with the upcoming gangster drama film, Subbaraj has another big pan-India project in the pipeline for a 2023 release with the working title RC15 (Ram Charan 15), which is directed by S. Shankar and for which Subbaraj has written the story.

Jigarthanda was also remade in Hindi as Bachchan Pandey, starring Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. However, it turned out to be a box-office bomb, failing to impress critics and viewers despite much-hype.

Jigarthanda Double X Star Cast

Produced by Stone Bench Films and Five Star Creations, the film stars actors Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles. With this, Raghava Lawrence makes his comeback after the 2019 horror action comedy film Kanchana 3 and SJ Suryah was last seen in recently released Kadamaiyai Sei.

As per recent reports, actress Nimisha Sajayan is also playing a pivotal role in the sequel. The first film starred Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Lakshmi Menon, Karunakaran, and Guru Somasundaram in key roles. It also won two National Film Awards: for best supporting actor for Simha and best edition for Vivek Harshan.

Jigarthanda Double X Teaser Out

Raising the excitement for the upcoming gangster drama film, the makers have dropped a 3-minute-long special teaser video for the upcoming action entertainer. The video is titled “a kind of teaser” and it features high-octane action sequences between the lead actors of the film, Raghava Lawrence and Suryah.

As the protagonist tries to ditch a group of cops chasing him, he uses a camera as a weapon against an overpowering enemy. Following a large introduction scene, the teaser shifts focus towards the deadly face-off between the two actors.

The action entertainer includes S. Thirunavakkarasu as the cinematographer, Shafique Mohamed Ali as an editor, and Santhosh Narayanan as a music composer. It is produced by Kaarthekeyan Santhanam and Kathiresan, whereas Kal Raman, S. Somasegar, and Kalyan Subramaniam are serving as the co-producers.
