Jigarthanda DoubleX has been released in theatres on November 10. The movie is up to a great start and the screen occupancy of the movie is also higher than Raju Murugan’s Japan which was also released in theatres today.
Jigarthanda DoubleX is an action-comedy directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, S. Kathiresan, and Alankar Pandian. The movie features Raghava Lawrence, S. J. Suryah, Shine Tom Chacko, Nimisha Sajayan, Naveen Chandra, Sathyan, Aravind Akash, Ilavarasu, and Bava Chelladurai in pivotal roles.
Jigarthanda DoubleX Plot
The plot of the movie is set in 1975 and is based on the life of a notorious gangster named Pandiyan from Madurai. Pandiyan aspires to become the first dark-skinned actor in Tamil cinema and for that, he hires a former assistant director of Satyajit Ray named Ray Dasan to make his directorial debut.
Pandiyan wants Dasan to direct a Clint Eastwood-style western film in Tamil Nadu titled Pandyaa. As the shooting progresses, Pandiyan’s rivals begin to hunt him down, causing various problems with the shoot.

Film industry tracker Sacnilk reports that Jigarthanda Double X is off to a great start. Jigarthanda Double X is expected to earn about 2.00 crore India net on its first day of release in all languages.
Despite being a mid-range budget movie, it was expected to perform better than Lawrence’s previous release, Chandramuki 2. There is quite a lot of buzz around the movie in the south-Indian states, but in North Vidhu, Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail is performing outstandingly well at the box office.
Jigarthanda DoubleX has been released ahead of the Diwali weekend, and by the end of it, it is expected to cross a mark of Rs. 15 crore across India. Currently, Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo is leading the box office, but Jigarthanda DoubleX has all the potential to grow numbers in a few weeks.
