Indian actor-cum-singer, Diljit Dosanjh, who is known globally for his Punjabi music will soon be seen in his upcoming film titled Jogi, based on the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. Earlier, he had also worked in the Punjabi movie “Punjab 1984”, based on the same topic.
Diljit who has worked in many Punjabi films such as The Lion of Punjab, Jatt & Juliet, Jatt & Juliet 2, Sardaarji 2, Sajjan Singh Rangroot and many others, is a bit choosy when it comes to selecting Hindi films.
Talking about Jogi, Diljit said that this topic is really close to his heart as he has grown up hearing about the real-life experiences and stories about the riots and the era. He has worked in Hindi movies such as Udta Punjab, Phillauri, Welcome to New York, Soorma, Arjun Patiala, Good Newwz and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari etc.
Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri who delivered a massive blockbuster film The Kashmir Files, based on the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits, also announced his next project “The Delhi Files”, based on the real life incidents that took place in Delhi during 1984 riots.
