Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane has teamed- up with for Amazon Prime Video for Jubliee, which is the streamers’s upcoming period drama series. Title was announced during Amazon Prime Present India event held on April 20, 2022.
Jubliee is one of the 40 titles announced by Amazon for next two years, these titles includes 18 new scripted ones and 4 new unscripted ones. Among new TV shows are Shahid Kapoor led thriller, Sonakshi Sinha starrer serial killer drama Dahaad, Kay Kay Menon Led action drama Bambai Meri Jaan, Annu Kapoor starrer Crash Course, Naga Chaitanya starrer Dhootha and many others.
The streamers also announced the renewal of acclaimed web-series like Paatal Lok, Family Man, Mirzapur, Panchayat ect. If we talk about Jublee its is going to be an interesting one, as it is going to depict the inception of Bollywood, which is a unique subject.
Jubliee Release Date
On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Amazon Prime Video dropped the first look of this highly-anticipated fictional drama series from its official twitter handle along with the titles and first look of its other upcoming projects.
The poster features its lead actor Prosenjit Chatterjee in Bossy look, sitting in a couch and smoking cigar, the caption reads “Set in a newly independent India, Jubilee is a fictional period drma that unveils the stories and dreams that gave birth to Bollywood, as we know it “.
On 17th March 2023, they share a sneak peak from the series with the release date, an ensemble star cast having Jubilee is all set to release soon on 7th April 2023.
Jubliee Star Cast
This period action drama stars prominent and multiple award-winning Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee in the lead role. He, as the lead will explore the foundational years of Bollywood. He is best known for working in Autograph, Jaatishwar, Khwato etc. Along with him, the series also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Sidhanat Gupta and Wamiqa Gabi.
Jubliee Makers
It is created and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane who is known for directing films like Udaan (2010), Lootera (2013) and AK vs AK (2020). Soumik Sen in the co-creator of the series while Atul Sabharwal is serving as the showrunner. Reliance Entertainment Studios is producing the series for Amazon Prime Video.
On the technical front, Pratik Shah and Sidharth Meer are handling the cinematography, editing is done by Aarti Bajaj while Amit Trivedi and Alokananda Dasgupta are composing the soundtrack and socre in the series.
