Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo hit the cinemas on June 24 (Friday), it is a family drama, directed by Raj Mehta (Good Newwz), backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in association with Viacom 18 Studios.
The trailer of the film has already created a buzz amongst the cinephiles, it was released a month ago and so far has garnered over 4.3 crore views and 6L likes.
Advance Bookings
Till Wednesday morning the Jugjugg Jeeyo had sold over 15,000 tickets, worth 3 Cr gross at the three national properties, now as per the recent reports, it sold 12,000+ tickets more till Thursday morning, overall Jugjugg Jeeyo sold around 28,000 tickets in the three multiplex chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis). It is 50% of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which had sold 52,100 tickets till Thursday morning for opening day.
Box Office Collection
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with the above advance sales had done the opening business of Rs 14.11 Cr, now going by the reports, Jugjugg Jeeyo earned Rs 9.28 Cr on Day 1.
The film saw 20% occupancy in the urban centers during morning and mid-afternoon shows and reportedly show growth over the evening and night shows. As per box office India, it performed well in the Delhi NCR belt on Friday while other metros have shown decent performance.
Box Office Overseas
The overseas box office report for Varun starrer is very good, in fact, the film has beaten Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in some regions of the UK, and Gulf. It is projected that it will have a $2M (Rs 15.65 Cr approx) opening weekend. While it remains to be seen if it surpasses Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi or not, which is 2022’s highest weekend overseas ($2.2M).

Screen Counts
Varun starrer was released on 3,375+ screens in the domestic market(India) and around 1000 screens overseas, the worldwide screen counts are 4375+.

Jugjugg Jeeyo received mixed to positive reviews from the critics, Zinia Bandyopadhyay from News 18 gave the film 3.5/5, Ronak Kotecha of TOI gave 3.5/5 stars, Subhra Gupta of Indian Express gave 2.5/5, and India Today’s Tushar Joshi gave 3.5 out of 5 stars. They praised the screenplay, writing, and performance of the main cast, especially Anil Kapoor-Varun Dhawan’s father-son act.
