Raj Mehta-directed Jugjugg Jeeyo is all set to hit the theatres on 24 June 2022, the film is billed as a comedy-drama, backed by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner Dharma Productions and Viacom 18 Studios.
The trailer of the film was dropped by the makers on May 22, a month ahead of the film’s release, and it has garnered a great response, songs of the film have also gone viral on social media.
Talking about the actors, Varun Dhawan has been away from the big screens since his Dec 2020 release Coolie No.1 while Kiara’s recent release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has brought the family audience back to the theatres.
BB2 success brought back the smiles on the faces of all concerned in the trade as the industry was hit hard due to covid-19, now the same success is being expected from Varun and Karitk starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo.
Jugjugg Jeeyo Advance bookings
Varun starrer was certified by CBFC board with U/A certificate on June 3, it has a runtime of 2hr 28min (148 minutes). The advance bookings for Varun-Kiara led had started one week prior same as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and the reports are good.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film had sold 15500 tickets at the three national properties PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, till Wednesday at 10 am, for day 1. If compare to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 it has sold only 50% for the opening day, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had sold 30,900 tickets.
However, the Thursday ticket bookings report of JJJ is yet to come, let’s see how close it will be able to reach BB2 ticket sales. So far, the film has sold 9000 tickets at PVR, 4500 at Inox, and 2000 at Cinepolis.
Jugjugg Jeeyo Screen Counts
The film is said to be made on a budget of over Rs 100 crores, makers will certainly try to fetch around 3000 screens for the flick in the domestic market. The worldwide screen counts are expected around 4000 screens.
Jugjugg Jeeyo Reviews
The film got out and out positive reviews from critics, Taran Adarsh, Sumit Kadel, and Rohit Jaiswal gave the film 4 out of 5 stars, they praised the writing of the film. Critics gave the review via Twitter, Taran Adarsh wrote,” writing is the soul of the film” while Sumit Kadel praised the screenplay.
Box Office Collection
Raj Mehta earlier collaborated with Hiroo, Karan, and Apoorva in Good Newwz (2019), the comedy-drama had emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. The same is being expected with his upcoming flick also, the buzz surrounding the film is positive. As per the trade experts, Jugjugg Jeeyo is projected to earn Rs 10 Cr+ on Day 1.
Going by the positive trend and advance bookings that the film has garnered through the trailer and songs, trade pandits are hopeful that Jugjugg Jeeyo will emerge as another full-fledged successful venture like BB2, and The Kashmir Files, in the Hindi industry.
