Kaapa is a Malayalam action thriller directed by Shaji Kailas. The film has Prithviraj Sukumaran in the main lead role. Kaapa marks the 5th theatrical release of Prithviraj in 2022.
The film is also the second collaboration of Shaji Kailas with Prithviraj this year after Kaduva, which was a theatrical success. Kaapa has been issued a UA certificate by the CBFC board with a runtime of 2hr 16min or 136minutes.

After taking a good start during the morning shows, Kaapa witnessed a drop in occupancy rates over afternoon shows. The film registered 20.51% morning occupancy while a low 13.23% occupancy rate during the afternoon shows. It witnessed a good number of footfalls during night shows. The film had 21.33% overall occupancy on the opening day (Thursday).
Box Office Collection
As per the trade estimations, Kaapa collected 1.7 Cr on the first day, which is low. The good part about the movie is that word of mouth is positive, so far. With rave reviews pouring in for the movie from critics and the audience alike. Now, it is remained to be seen how much Prithviraj’s film takes advantage of the four-day long extended weekend.

Kaapa is said to be made on a budget of 15 crores. As per the trade reports, Kaapa has been released in over 220 theatres in Kerala, it has occupied 117 theatres in the Gulf countries.
