Kollywood superstar Vijay Gurunatha Sethupati Kalimuthu, popularly known as Vijay Sethupathi delivers his most awaited village-drama film Kadaisi Vivasayi.
Multiple award-winning actor Vijay Sethupathi is one of the biggest megastars of the Kollywood entertainment Industry, his exceptional fan following throughout South India is the proof of his work.
He starred in more than 50 super hit films and also worked in many successful ventures, that is why he is referred to as Makkal Selvan, which means People’s Treasure. This movie is his upcoming production venture. Let’s have a look at the point mentioned below:
Kadaisi Vivasayi Release Date
Earlier this movie was slated for theatrical release in 2020, but due to Covid-19 cases in the country the idea was dropped and it was decided that the film will be released through a digital platform. The makers of the movie were in talks with the online streaming platform SonyLIV, to give the film a direct OTT Release.
Later, the idea of its digital release was also backed off by its makers, and it was decided that this will be released through big screens. This highly-anticipated village drama has a grand theatrical release on February 11, 2022, after rescheduling the release-dates multiple times.
The film received positive reviews all over, now available on Sony LIV from 11 March 2022:

What makes this village drama interesting is that the lead role in the film is played by a 86 years old debutant with no background in the acting field, Nallandi.
Nallandi is also a farmer and as the film is based on the village life and farmer, he was roped in for the male lead role of an old farmer.
We rarely see this type of thing in the film industry, but this shows the dedication of the makers of this movie towards giving a message to society about farmers and their problems.
Along with appearing in extended cameo roles of Ramaiah, Vijay Sethupathi also bankrolled this project under the banner of his own production company Vijay Sethupathi Production.
Popular Tamil actor and comedian Yogi Babu will also be seen in the pivotal role in this film.
It is helmed by 2015 Tamil Comedy-drama Kaaka Muttai fame director M. Manikandan. The music of the film has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan along with BAFTA award-winning English composer Richard Harvey.

The trailer of this highly anticipated film was released on November 21, 2021. It looks so promising as the village life has been showcased.
It introduced a small village where the villagers are gearing up for a festival. A poor and old farmer, who is the lead character in the movie, has been shown as the lone farmer of the village.
The farmer is shown to be prisoned, as he is accused in a case. Vijay Sehtupathi is also featured as that old farmer’s son and the devotee of Lord Murugan.

The story of the film revolves around a small village, where people organize a festival for their deity. They also need some rice grown up in their own village, for offering deity, but realize no one in the village does farming there.
