Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran’s long-awaited film Kaduva has finally been released in theatres worldwide, it is directed by Shaji Kailas and Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen under the banner Prithviraj Production and Magic Frames.
It is an action thriller set in the 1990s Kottayam district of Kerala, Prithviraj is playing a young planter, Kurian, it revolves around his life and rivalry with a high ranking officer in the state. Vivek Oberoi is said to be playing the main antagonist as I.G Joseph Chandy Manjiledathu.
CBFC passed the film with U/A
The film also marks the comeback of the senior filmmaker Shaji Kailas after over 4 yrs long hiatus. Kaduva was supposed to be released on June 30 but got pushed back a week due to a legal tussle. The film has recently been cleared by the censor board with a U/A certificate with a new date of 7 July 2022.

Screen Counts
It is said to be screening in 250+ theatres in Kerala, today, in UAE/GCC countries it is releasing in around 92 theatres.

Box Office Collection Day 1
Prithviraj starrer had already created a great deal of buzz before the release of the film due to its posters and the trailer which helped to create anticipation among moviegoers. Going by the trend Kaduva will collect around Rs 2 to 3 crore** on Day 1 in the home state Kerala. Further, the business of the film will depend on word of mouth.

Helmed by Shaji Kailas, and written by Jinu V. Abraham, Kaduva is backed by Supriya Menon with Listin Stephen under Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. On the technical front, Abinandhan Ramanujam is the cinematographer, Shameer Muhammaed handled the editing and it is a Jakes Bejoy musical. Magic Frames are also the distributors.
It stars an ensemble cast Prithviraj, Vivek Oberoi, Samyukhta Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Reenu Mathews, Aju Verghese, Arjun Ashokan, Sachin Khedekar,’Chali Pala, Saju Navodaya, Abu Salim and so on.
