Based in the 1980s, which occurred in a small village of Theni, Tamil Nadu, Kallan is a Tamil crime drama film which is directed and written by Journalist-turned-director Chandra Thangaraj.
The film is produced by Madhiazhagan under the banner of Etcetera Entertainment. It has music and background score by Krishna Kumar, popularly known as “K”.
If we talk about technical work, the cinematography has been taken care of by M.S. Prabhu in association with Gopijegatheeswaran and SP. Ahamad has handled the editing work.
Kallan Star Cast
Film director-cum-actor Karu Pazhaniappan who earlier worked in movies like Housefull, Thulladha Manamum Thullum, Pennin Manathai Thottu Mandhira Punnagai, Natpe Thunai, is playing the male lead as Velu. He will also be seen in Vijay Kumar Rajendran’s Tamil action thriller “D Block” .
Actress Nikita is playing opposite Pazhaniappan. Apart from the leading star cast, the film also stars Soundararaja as Selvam, Maya Chandran as Selvi and Namo Narayana as Maari.
Kallan OTT Release Date
The film already had its theatrical release on March 18, 2022 across Tamil Nadu. However, it didn’t get positive reviews from the audience and the critics. The film is criticized for its screenplay and critics described it as the movie with high ambitions which ultimately collapsed due to cluttered execution.
Now, What about the post-streaming digital release? Well the makers of the crime drama have not revealed any details regarding it. As per sources, it is being said that the film will stream on Zee5 post its theater release. We will update the information as soon as the makers announce anything regarding this.
Kallan Trailer
The makers released the trailer of this crime drama on March 12, 2022. The two minute trailer shows Velu and his friends as professional hunters, who are also accused of making illegal guns for which they are also arrested by the Police, however, succeeded in escaping from the Jail. It also shows the glimpse of romance between Velu and Nikita’s character.

About the Film
The film narrates the story of a group of people who had taken up hunting as their profession and how they change their paths and move into a criminal activities after the government ban hunting.
