It has been almost one month since the Kannada sensation Kantara hit the theatres. The flick has entered its 4th week and is still unstoppable at the box office. It recently surpassed the lifetime of KGF-1 to become the 2nd highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time.
Now, the top 3 highest-grossing Kannada movie belongs to the Hombale films, KGF-2 (Rs 1207 crores), Kantara (250.5 crores and counting), and KGF1 (Rs 250 crores).

Box Office Collection Day 29
Rishab Shetty’s film is still accumulating upwards of 1 crore from advance bookings. It has clocked in 1.45 crores from the ticket sales for day 29. Kannada remains the top contributor followed by Hindi and Telugu. It is doing well in Malayalam and Tamil as well.
From yesterday, Oct 29th onwards, Kantara sees an increase in the screen counts in Tamil Nadu. Tamil biz of Kantara has also shown growth in its daily earnings.
As per the trade reports, Kantara shows below 1% drop in its collections, it earned Rs 5.5-6 Cr on Friday.
Crosses 200 Crores Domestically
The 29-day domestic collection of Kantara stands at upwards of Rs 204 crores nett. It has crossed the 200 crore nett mark at the box office India on its 5th Friday.
The worldwide gross collection of the movie has gone past the 250 crore mark and it is now eying 300 crores worldwide. And going by its performance at the box office, there will be no hindrance for the film to achieve the feat.

Kantara is a rare film that has shown growth week by week, the first-week collection of the flick stands at Rs 30 crores, Week 2- Rs 42.3 Cr, Week 3- Rs 67.8 Cr, and it witnessed its first drop in Week 4 in terms of weekly performance. It faces a drop of 12.76% to accumulate Rs 59.15 crore in the 4th week which is still almost 2fold of the 1st-week collections.
The performance of the flick speaks volumes about the power of content and the audience’s genuine positive word of mouth. A small film that at first no one would have believed it crossing the 100 crore mark, has emerged as one of the highest-grossing Kannada movies, now.
