Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara was opened with mixed reviews from the critics and saw its biz grow leaps and bounds due to glowing word of mouth. It recently emerged as the 2nd highest-grosser Kannada movie of all time surpassing KGF1 lifetime.
2022 has been a rollercoaster year, we have seen things turn topsyturvy at the box office India. Many anticipated biggies like Shamshera, Prithviraj Chauhan, Laal Singh Chaddha and Dhaakad bombed while small films like The Kashmir Files, 777 Charlie, Sita Ramam, and now Kantara churned out huge from all quarters and reaped huge profits for the buyers. The aforementioned movies emerged as a blockbuster and are those films that showed growth with positive word of mouth.
Moreover, we also saw that south Indian films dominating the box office this year, monster KGF2 and magnum opus RRR went on to become one of the highest-earning Indian films of all time.

Advance Bookings Report Day 30
Coming to the Kantara, the flick is doing phenomenally well even after 30 days at the box office. It showed a negligible 1% drop on Fri and a huge over 70% growth on 5th Sat. If advance bookings of the film are to go by, it will witness growth on Sun as well.
Kantara showed double growth in the advance bookings as compared to Friday, it draws in 3.14 crores from the advance bookings for Day 30.

Kantara has recently crossed the 200 crore nett mark domestically, out of which the Kannada version stands at ₹ 136.3 crores, Hindi ₹ 34.2 crores, Telugu ₹ 26.67 crores, Tamil ₹ 4 crore and Malayalam ₹ 4.2 crores. As per the early trade estimations, Kantara collects 9.5-10.5 crore on its 5th Saturday, which is over 70% growth.
The next target of Kantara will be to cross the 275 crore mark, domestically which it is expected to cross on the weekend then head for 300 crores worldwide.
It looks like Kantara-Kannada will touch the 150 crore mark in its lifetime, Hindi- will eye for 45-50 crore while the Telugu version of the movie is expected to end its run with a 35 crore lifetime.
