Sandalwood’s cinema’s latest offering “Kantara” has been making headlines ever since it hit the theatres. The flick was released on Sept 30 to rave reviews and took a decent start at the box office.
It saw its collections grow leaps and bound due to positive audience word of mouth in a few days, the flick went on to emerge as the blockbuster in the original version. Further, makers made it grandeur by releasing it in multi-languages in the theatres.

Kantara Malayalam Release Date
Not only in the original version it is also getting traction in other languages as well. Rishab Shetty starrer was recently released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
It has already emerged as a clean hit in the Telugu version whereas the Hindi version of Kantara has become the best-performing among the dubbed version released this year in the Hindi belt, in terms of the first three days’ earnings. Despite locking horns with PS-1 in Tamil, Kantara has been giving stiff competition to the former at the box office.
Now, it is set to be released in the Malayalam language as well. The Malayalam rights of Kantara have been acquired by Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Production. Makers recently unveiled its trailer which garnered a lot of eyeballs. Kantara-Malayalam will be released on Oct 20th.

Box Office Report
Kantara is at the number 1 position in the list of IMDb’s top 250 Indian movies currently. The film has 9.4 out of 10 ratings on the website. Kantara is the film that saw its bizz grow due to genuine audience word of mouth.
Even after over 2-week run, Kantara is churning out 5-6times more than what it had earned on its first day. The regular huge growth in the daily earnings speaks volumes about the flick and what mark it has left in the audience.
It has netted over 100 crores in its over 2-week run in the domestic market. And going by the pan India release, the flick will be eying 150-175 Cr nett in the long run.
