Streaming giant Netflix will soon be back with another unique, funny and entertaining tale. It is the story with a full dose of drama, comedy, crime, mystery, suspense and a lot more.
The film’s title Kathal itself makes it unique and different as it is the Hindi name of Jackfruit. The makers of this woman led comedy drama have already begun its filming.
Starring the young and talented actress “The Dangal Girl” Sanya Malhotra in the leading role, this film will make you laugh and cry at the same time.
Sanya, who is not new to the OTT world, has worked in many Netflix movies such as dark comedy Ludo (2020), comedy drama Pagglait (2021) and romantic drama Meenakshi Sudareshwar (2021).
Kathal Movie Announced
Netflix on today, March 5, 2022 announced its upcoming comedy drama through a short video clip which features the lead actress Sanya Malhotra dressed in Police Inspector’s uniform.
The video shows her saying that her senior Police officer thinks that she has made the case complicated but the little does he know is the case has twisted her life tho.

Along with Sanya Malhotra, who is playing as an Police Officer Mahima Bosor, the film also stars Television actor Anant Vijay Joshi, who is best known for playing the titular role of Bhaskar Tripathi in ALTBalaji’s web-series Virgin Bhasskar.
The film is helmed by Yashowardhan Mishra, who is making his directorial debut with this film. He also wrote the screenplay of the film along with acclaimed award winning writer Ashok Mishra.
Ashok Mishra also wrote the screenplay of director Shyam Bengal’s 2008 critically acclaimed film Welcome to Sajjanpur, starring Shreyas Talpade and Amrita Rao in the lead roles.
The film is bankrolled by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain’s Sikhya Entertainment in association with ace filmmaker Ekta Kapoor and her mother Sobha Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. Ruchika Kapoor is also one of the producer of the film under Balaji Motion Pictures.
This film is going to be the second collaboration of the leading lady Sanya Malhotra with Netflix, Sakhya Entertainment and Balaji Motion Pictures together, after director Umesh Bist’s 2021 black comedy drama Pagglait.

What is the film all about?
The story of the film revolves around a young female Police officer Mahima Basor, who is determined to solve an unusual case of missing Jackfruits, belong to a local politician of a tiny village of the rural India.
Although not much have been revealed about the film, we could say that this one will be the unique, engaging and a perfect entertainer for the audience.
