The Kerala State Film Award ceremony was scheduled for August and postponed as the India Meteorological Department sounded a red alert in Thiruvananthapuram in view of the heavy rains.
The event was set to take place on August 3 and now the new date is 10th December 2022. The winners of the coveted awards were already announced in May.
Venue and Date of Kerala State Film Awards 2022
Earlier the event was scheduled for August 3 at Nishagandhi open auditorium. However, The Cultural Affairs Minister of the state V N Vasavan stated that the new date would be announced later.

Kerala State Film Awards 2022 Best Actress
Actress Revathi bagged the award of best actress for the movie Bhoothaalam in which she played the role of a single mother who gets trapped in a haunted house with her son. This is the first Kerala State Film Award of Revathi which she got for her magnificent performance.

Kerala State Film Awards 2022 Best Actor
This year Kerala State Film Awards 2022 Best Actor award will be shared by two people Biju Menon and Joju George. Actor Biju bagged the top award for his performance in the slow-burning thriller Aarkkariyam and recently, he also won the National Award for the Best Supporting Actor category for his brilliant performance as Ayyappan Nair in Ayyappanum Koshiyum and he also delivered an intense performance.
Along with Biju Menon, Joju George also bagged the Kerala Film Award for best actor for his wonderful work in various movies including Madhuram, Freedom Fight, Thuramukham and Naayaattu.

Dileesh Pothan won the Kerala State Film Awards 2022 for Best Director for Joji.
Umesh Moor won the Best Character Actor for Kala.
Unnimaya Prasad won the Best Character Actress for Joji.
Hridayam won the Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value.
