Who would have thought that a regional film that emanates from a small industry will break the lifetime record of Bollywood’s magnum opuses one day? Well Sandalwood’s KGF 2 has made it possible, the film set its base with the first part in 2018 and unleashed the monster to create a rampage at the box office in 2022.
Prashant Neel directorial has collected over Rs 800 Cr mark worldwide in just 10 days of its theatrical run, the film has so far left behind highest-grossing films like Ranibr’s Sanju, Sultan starring Salman Khan, Baahubali 1 and recently Rajini starrer 2.0 to become the 7th highest-grossing Indian film ever, not only this but the period action flick also became the third highest-grossing film in India.
Unlike the Telugu, Kannada cinema doesn’t enjoy a mass following that adds a big sum to their total BOC, still, the film has made a cult following not only in the home state but across the country especially in the northern belt, where the film has become the 9th film that entered in 300 Cr club that too in just 11 days.
As per the reports, KGF 2 showed a huge jump on Day 11, collecting Rs 22.68 Cr nett from the Hindi belt on Sunday making the total collection Rs 321.12 Crs. KGF 2 dethrones Aamir Khan’s PK from the 6th position of the highest-grossing Indian film with the collection of Rs 69.30 Crs on Day 11, the total worldwide collections now reach around Rs 900 Cr gross.
