Actor Vijay Antony starrer, Kolai/Hatya is an upcoming psychological murder mystery film which is directed by Balaji Kumar who is best known for his directorial thriller film Vidiyum Munn (2013).
Kolai is jointly produced by Kamal Bohra, G. Dhananjayan, Pradeep B, Pankaj Bohra, and S. Vikram Kumar of Infiniti Film Ventures in association with Tan Sri Doraisingam Pillai, Siddhartha Shankar and R.V.S. Ashok Kumar of Lotus Pictures.
On the technical front, Sivakumar Vijayan is taking care of cinematography and editing is handled by Selva RK. The film has music and background score by Girishh Gopalakrishnan, art direction by Arusamy and stunt choreography by Mahesh Mathew.
Kolai Star Cast
The music director-turned-actor Vijay Antony is the male lead and he is playing detective Vinayak in the film. The actor has many interesting projects in the pipeline including Tamilaraasan, Agni Siragugal, Khaki, Pichaikkaran 2, Mazhi Pidikatha Manithan and an untitled movie directed by CS Amudhan.
The talented actress Ritika Singh has paired-up with Vijay Antony and she will be playing a Cop, Sandhya in the film. She previously worked in a few movies including Irudhi Suttru, Aandavan Kattalai, Guru, Shivalinga, Neevevaro, Oh My Kadavule.
Other than this, the film also stars prominent actors including Radikaa Sarathkumar, Murali Sharma, John Vijay, Siddhartha Shankar, Arjun Chidambaram, Kishore Kumar, Samkit Bohra and Femina Miss India 2018 pageant Meenakshii Chaudhary, who will be making her acting debut.

Kolai/Hatya First Look Poster
On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, the makers of the movie shared the first look of the film which features Vijay sporting an all black look, with a hat on his head, he is seen holding a bunch of papers which have rough sketches of a few people. Looks like the acclaimed actor will be seen as a detective in the film.
Vijay Antony has a big fan base in Telugu Market and which is why most of his films are dubbed as well as released in Telugu language also.
Like his many previous movies, Kolai will also be released in Telugu language. The said version will be titled as Hatya. The actor also shared the first look of the film through his social media account which comprises two posters in Tamil and another in Telugu with the title “Hatya”.

Plot of the Film
The film is inspired by a real-life incident that took place in New York during 1923. The film is a murder mystery, which tell the story of a beautiful model Leila, who was murdered in her apartment. Detective Vinayak (Vijay Antony), who has refrained from active field work due to a personal tragedy, is back to crack the mystery.
