Kranti is a Kannada action thriller film which is directed by singer-composer-filmmaker V. Harikrishna, who is known for winning three consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Music for Gaalipata in 2008, Raaj The Snowman in 2009, and Jackie in 2010.
Tentatively titled as #D55, as it is the 55th film of Dashan’s career, the film’s official title, Kranti, was unveiled in September 2021, and then the film was launched in October of the same year, expected a huge success but failed.
Kranti Star Cast
The film stars Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, popularly known as Darshan, in the lead role. Darshan is well-known for his 2021 action thriller film Roberrt, which turned out to be a blockbuster hit and the sixth highest grossing Kannada film ever, following KGF 2, Kantara, KGF 1, Vikrant Rona, James, and 777 Charlie, etc.
Roberrt turned out to be one of the brilliant performances of Darshan and it also won awards in two categories—Best Director and Best Music Director—in the recently concluded SIIMA Awards 2022.
Kranti also stars Rachita Ram and Ravichandran in the lead roles along with Darshan, and it also marks the trio’s third collaboration after 2013 romantic comedy Bulbul and 2014 action film Ambareesha.
Kranti Release Date
On November 1, 2022, on the occasion of Karnataka Foundation Day or Kannada Rajyotsav, the makers of the film revealed its theatre release date. It is now confirmed for digital premiere.
Amazon Prime users can catch this action venture from 23rd February in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu language, Hindi user have to wait for this film.
Kranti Theme Song Dharani
Recently makers made a special announcement about the theme song of the film Dharani via the social media platform, Youtube, launching a 1min 11sec video. The theme song Dharani will be out on 10th Dec at 7 pm, it is informed by the challenging star Darshan himself via twitter, check out the tweet and the announcement video below:
Kranti Makers
Along the film marks the second collaboration of Darshan with director-composer Harikrishna and producers Shylaja Nag and B Suresha, after the 2019 blockbuster social action film Yajamana. Nag is backing the project in association with her husband, producer B. Suresha, under their home banner, Media House Studio.
The film has A. Karunakar as cinematographer and Prakash Karinja as the editor. Talking about the film’s music and background score, it is composed by Harikrishna himself.
