Kung Fu Panda is an American media franchise that originally started in 2008 with the release of the animated feature film of the same name. Produced by DreamWorks Animation, the franchise will soon come up with its fourth installment.
The second and third installments Kung Fu Panda 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3 were release in 2011 and 2016. Apart from these 3 films, the franchise also comprises three television series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness (2011-2016), The Paws of Destiny (2018-2019) and The Dragon Knight (2022).
The franchise’s first two films were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature as well as numerous Annie Awards. All the three films were critically acclaimed and commercial successes by grossing $1.8 billion. Now the franchise is set to make the fourth film Kung Fu Panda 4.
Kung Fu Panda 4 Release Date Locked
Here is good news for all Kung Fu Panda lovers that the franchise has released the release date of the fourth installment of the film. Kung Fu Panda 4, will be released theatrically on March 8, 2024 and is currently under production.
The official twitter page of DreamWorks Animation on Friday, August 12, 2022, revealed the release date of the film along with a poster featuring the titular Po Ping. Have a look:

Kung Fu Panda 4 Cast
Everyone’s favorite Panda, Master Ping Xiao Po, known as Po, will be back in Kung Fu Panda 4. The character has a voiceover of American actor-musician Jack Black. Due to the film’s early stages of production, it remains unclear if any previous voice actors, such as Angeline Jolie and Dustin Hoffman, will be returning.
Other than these actors, other stars who lent their voice to the franchise include Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan, David Cross, James Hong etc.
About the Film
The film follows the lovable underdog protagonist Po, an excitable but clumsy panda working in his adopted goose father’s noodle shop. Obsessed with Kung Fu, Po accidentally stumbles into a tournament where he is identified as a prophesied Kung Fu master, Dragon Warrior.
While initially mocked, he takes his training seriously, befriends the Furious Five Kung Fu team, and proves himself a capable hero. Originally intended to be a trilogy, Kung Fu Panda 3 saw Po reunited with his birth parents and taking on the role of Kung Fu teacher. The Part 4 will follow the further adventures of Po in ancient China and the upcoming events related to him.
