The Popular Television anchor from Kerala, Mathukkutty is all set to come with his directorial debut film Kunjeldho this December.
It stars known Mollywood actor Asif Ali in the main lead. The actor is mostly known for his two movies comedy-thriller Honey Bee (2013) and Nirnayakam (2015), the latter had won the national award in the category of Best Film on other social issues.
Along with acting the actor has produced 5 Malayalam films so far, Kohinoor (2015), Kavi Uddheshichathu? (2016), Honey Bee 2 (2017), Vimaanam(2017), and Iblis in 2018. Kunjeldho is Asif’s fourth and last film of the year, his recent release Jibu Jacob directorial Ellam Sheriyakum was a family hit.
Theatrical Release Date
Kunjeldho production went on floors in Sep 2019, shooting took place mostly in Kerala(Aluva, Perumbavoor, Paravoor, and Thodupuzha), earlier the film was to release on 27 August this year coinciding with the Onam festival but was put off on the account of the second wave of covid-19. Makers later in Nov announced that the film would release in theatres on 24 Dec 2021.

Kunjeldho post-theatrical digital and satellite rights are acquired by the homegrown digital platform ZEE5 & pay television channel Zee Keralam respectively, Thereby, it is most likely possible that the film will see its digital premiere after 4 weeks & Television premiere after 8 weeks of its theatrical release on OTT platform Zee5 and Tv channel Zee Keralam.

Muthukutty directed as well as wrote the film, Produced by Suvin K Varkey along with Prasobh Krishna under their home banner Little Big Films production company, Cinematography and Editing has been carried out by Swaroop Philip and Ranjan Abraham, and the music is given by Shaan Rehman.
