Kollywood action-drama Laabam which means Profit in English is all set to release on the digital platform Netflix after its theatrical release on 9 Sept 2021.
It is an action drama starring Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi. It was late S.P Jananathan’s last movie as a director, he passed away on 14 March this year owing to cardiac arrest at the age of 61, Film was released in theatres posthumously.
Laabam: Daylight Robbery revolves around the film’s main lead Vijay, who after an exile comes to his native village and took on the village’s head Jagapathi Babu, who was exploiting local farmers, further in the film he fights with antagonist Jagapathi goons and emerges as victorious. the film is produced by Vijay Sethupathi himself with P. ArumugaKumar.

Its trailer was released on 22 Aug 2020 on Lahari Music/ T-Series, which have also acquired its audio rights on its official YouTube channel, till now it has surpassed 1.5 crores views with 3.2 lakhs likes onto it.
Cinematography is done by Ramji. Though the film’s trailer got a good response, the Theatregoers didn’t show their interest in the film. It didn’t collect the good amount from the box office that was expected from it, the IMDb rating of the film is 3.2/10.
Laabam’s Netflix Release Date
The film was released in theaters on Sept 9 prior a day to Thalaivii which was released on Sept 10. Netflix later acquired its digital rights. The full movie will premiere on the Over The Top platform Netflix on 24 October 2021, We will see then, how the digital audience responds to Vijay’s action drama Laabam.
It was written as well as directed by late S.P Jananathan, Iyarkal (2003) was his debut film as a director which got the National film award in the category of the Best Feature film.
