Box Office Collection
Earlier the boycott trend used to benefit the film business, we have seen it with Padmaavat, Dangal, and Jodhaa Akbar to name a few, which emerges as a blockbuster at the box office. But a post-pandemic lot of things have changed, and audiences have become selective about what to watch or not.
Pre-pandemic, it was normal for a big star film to open with a range of Rs 10-12 Cr but in the current trend even touching Rs 5 Cr has become an uphill battle Jersey, Dhaakad, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Anek are examples.
In the current times, it is difficult to sustain at the box office if the content isn’t there, Shamshera, and Prithviraj, are the proofs that saw decent openings but fell flat after the weekend.
Amid this, “Laal Singh Chaddha” which is already embroiled in controversy, arriving at the cinemas. However, controversy or no controversy, the film will easily cross the Rs 10 Cr mark considering Aamir’s comeback after 3.5 yrs but to sustain at the box office for a long, will only depend on its content.
