Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha which was riding on a huge budget of 180 crores has turned out to be a fiasco considering the lackluster performance of the film at the box office.
It was expected to become the highest grosser of 2022 and end the three months box office drought of the Hindi film industry but have bombed itself. What LSC earned in week 1, Thugs of Hindustan, another dud of Aamir, had earned on its opening day.
Netflix Rejected Laal Singh Chaddha
Netflix which was said to become the OTT partner of LSC has backed out of the deal following the poor box office performance of the flick, as per a report of Bollywood Hungama. The report states that Aamir’ was sure about his film’s success and began negotiations with Netflix for a massive figure of Rs 150 crores before the release, however, things didn’t work out as for the platform it was an over-the-top amount. And now given the poor BO performance of the film, Netflix will no longer be interested in acquiring the rights of the film.

Box Office Collection Day 12
As per the early trade reports, Laal Singh Chaddha collect below the 1 crore mark on Monday, media reports suggest that LSC raked in only Rs 70 L on Day 12, which is the first below 1 crore collection in its theatrical run to date.
In its 11 day theatrical run Aamir’ film stands at Rs 55.53 crores at the box office, domestically. It looks like LSC will soon be pulled from the theatres and end its run with a 60-65 crore lifetime in the domestic market which will be a huge loss as compared to its hefty budget. It will witness a heavy drop in screen counts and collections from Thursday onwards due to the arrival of the Liger.

Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi remake of a 1994 Hollywood film titled Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. LSC is produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Jyoti Deshpande and Ajit Andhare under the banner Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18 Studios. Aamir’s film is doing decent business in the overseas market, so far it has grossed Rs 47.78 crores from there, the worldwide collections of Laal Singh Chaddha stands at Rs 113.89 crores.
