The kind of superstardom Aamir Khan enjoys, one expects even in the worst case, his film should have opened at Rs 15 crores. The start in the vicinity of Rs 12 crore for an Aamir starrer sends the clear message, that audience wants a good big screen worthy cinema.
Leave that, it breaking the record of BB2, it even takes a lower start than ’83 and Bachchan Pandey. Akshay’s Sooryavanshi had seen the opening of Rs 20 Cr and it was released during the pandemic. Since then the industry failed to deliver a film that created the kind of pre-release buzz which can take a Rs 20 Cr opening.
