Aamir’s film “Laal Singh Chadddha” failed to get a good opening and a drop in its earnings on Friday consolidates that it is nearing a flop verdict. The collections from mass pockets for the flick are negligible which drives the holiday business for a film.
Advait Chandan directed, is a remake of Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump, Aamir along with the acting is one of the financers of the film. It is said to be made on a big budget of Rs 180 crore. But looks like, forget the budget, it even won’t be able to recover the remunerations cost of the actors from the theatrical run.

As per the trade reports, LSC shows a jump of 30% on Saturday, it earns Rs 9.50 Cr on Day 3 to take the total collections in the vicinity of Rs 30 Cr, domestically. The Delhi NCR circuit and east Punjab are driving its business, the mass centers are negligible and national chains are the top contributors to the earnings of LSC. It is expected to show a nominal growth on Day 4 as well.

Below Par Opening
On day 1 it collected a below-par Rs 12 crore in the domestic market, an Aamir Khan film even in the worst case is expected to collect Rs 15 Cr but seems like it fails to create the pre-release buzz. With this start, the day 2 drop was unexpected as generally, a Thursday release film tends to drop on the second day but the film has already opened on a slow note, and the Friday drop on top of it, has put an end to its dream of doing big numbers at the box office.
