Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi adaptation of the 1994 Oscar winning movie ‘Forrest Gump’ by Tom Hanks. This Hindi remake features Amir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni in pivotal roles.
Te movie is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao and Viacom18 Studios and directed by Advait Chandan who directed Aamir in musical drama Secret Superstar, running time of the movie is 2 hour 50 minutes is quite long as per today’s time.
Clash with Raksha Bandhan
The most anticipated movie of Amir Khan was scheduled for release in 2020 but because of the pandemic they postponed the release. After that the movie was scheduled to be released on April 14 with KGF but due to some post-production work the film got delayed again.
And finally the movie releases on 11 August and even this day it was clashed with Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan. Talking about the clash Amir Khan said, he hopes that both the films will do well. Unfortunately, failed at Box Office and star power didn’t work.
OTT Release of Laal Singh Chaddha
Amir Khan productions sold the digital rights of the film to OTT giant Netflix for 160 crores, some reports claimed that film struggling to lock OTT deal, might go with Voot Select. It’s Box Office failure, so came on OTT earlier than expected, available in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on only one Netflix.

When asked about the OTT release of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir said not anytime soon. Aamir Khan made it very clear that he is in no hurry for OTT premiere is not happening anytime soon but Box Office run ruined this plan.
Amir Also added, one of the primary reasons why the curiosity of going to theaters has been reduced is because right after the Theatrical release, the movies come on OTT very fast. Aamir Said he doesn’t know about the Industry Standards but he always tries to keep a 6-months-gap.
Controversy on Lal Singh Chaddha
Just before it’s theatrical release, the movie Lal Singh Chaddha got surrounded with controversy and for more than two days #boycottlalsinghchaddha was trending on twitter.
The boycott trend started when some internet users found an interview of Kiran Rao, ex-wife of Amir Khan from 2015 in which she said they move countries because of growing intolerance in the country. And some people even believe that with the blockbuster movie PK, Amir Khan made fun of Hindu Deities and traditions.
Amid the controversy Amir Khan is promoting his movie in full swing and in one of his Interview he said, He feels sad that some of the people who are saying this, in their heart, they believe that he is someone who doesn’t like India.
In their hearts they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case. Amir Khan also requested people to not boycott my film. And he also said “Please watch my film.”
