Ram Gopal Verma’s highly anticipated film Ladki has been released in theatres, it is touted as India’s first martial arts film as claimed by the director. RGV’s last outing Dangerous has a lot of sensual scenes with Ladki he blended both action and sensuousness.
Ladki releases in Indian cinemas in all five languages Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. It stars Pooja Bhalekar, a martial artist turned actor, she is doing the role of a martial artist in the flick also who is obsessed with Bruce Lee.
Passes with ‘A’ certificate by CBFC
CBFC passed Ladki with ‘A’ certificate in Sept 2021, after asking to remove the 12 close-up shots of the protagonist, dialogues, cuss words, and Sanskrit shlokas given the religious sentiments attached. After carrying out the cuts, the film’s length has been reduced to 3 min 38 secs, now the runtime is 129 minutes ( 2hrs 9 min).

Box Office Collection Day 1
RGV’s film performed above expectations on the opening day, Ladki earned USD 70K (in Indian Rupees 55,80,449 approx) on Day 1, it earned $30k from previews, the film earned a total of 79,72,000 rupees approx ($100K) from U.S. Box office tracker Ramesh Bala informed via Twitter that it also debuts at no.7 in China.

Screen Counts & Budget
As claimed by RGV, Ladki has been released in over 47,500 cinemas worldwide, the film is screened in 47,000 theatres in China alone which is the most for an Indian film to date, earlier highest was Secret Superstar, and Dangal which were released in 12k and 9k screens respectively. The director also said in one of the interviews that Ladki is his most expensive project to date.

Maverick film director’s Ladki is locking horns with HIT: The First Case and Shabaash Mitthu in the north and RAPO’s The Warrior in the south. As per the fans of the director it will give stiff competition to the said films.

The posters, trailer, and promotional activity of the film grabbed the eyeballs but there is no excitement among the moviegoers for the flick in India. Also RGV’s last film Dangerous failed to garner the footfalls at the ticket windows.
