The Bilingual film “Liger” has been released in cinemas, the film is riding on a huge budget, the team and the cast members were super confident about their flick’s strong performance conversely the film took a below-par start.
Liger is a sports action film released in all five Indian languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada across the country. The film has done amazing pre-release business and the advance bookings reports are blockbusters.

Box Office Collection Day 1
It took a below-par opening at the box office, in the early morning shows, the film witnessed thunderous occupancy but as the negative reviews keeps pouring in, the film started to slow down over the noon and evening shows.
It grossed over Rs 24 Cr on Day 1 at the box office worldwide as per the trade reports. Telugu states were the biggest contributor to the collections of the sports film, it churned out Rs 15.40 Cr gross in the Telugu states (AP-TG) with 9.57 Cr shares. It has also become the top day 1 grosser for a tier-2 hero in the state beating 2019 Ram Pothineni starrer ismart Shankar.
However, the breakeven target for the film is Rs 90 Cr and with the bad WOM has come into play, it will be very difficult for Vijay starrer to pick up from here.

Advance Bookings
Vijay-Ananya starrer has grossed $450K from the US Premieres and counting. The movie has fared very well from the advance bookings, especially in Telugu. The total advance bookings collection of Liger is Rs 10.49 crores in all languages, in which the Telugu version accumulated Rs 9.86 Cr alone. The Hindi advance reports are very poor as the movie managed to rake in only 43 L for the opening day till Wednesday night.
Screen Counts
Liger has occupied over 3000 theatres worldwide, it has been released in 2300 theatres in India and around 700 theatres overseas, as per industry tracker T2Blive. The Telugu-speaking states occupied the most no. of theatres 930+, and in the rest of India, it has been released in 1300 theatres.

The film stars Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Panday, Mike Tyson and Ramya Krishna, it is produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Production and Puri Jagannadh-Charmee Kaur’s Puri Connects. It is said to be made on Rs 100-125 crore budget and the duration of the film is 140 minutes.
