After the superhit financial thriller web series “Scam 1992”, the father-son duo Hansal Mehta and Raj Mehta is collaborating on a thriller web series titled, “Lootere”, which is said to be mounted on a big scale.
Hansal Mehta serves as the creator while son Jai Mehta directed this upcoming Disney+Hotstar special series. It was tentatively titled Pirates and is written by Jai, Vishal Kapoor, Suparn Varma, and Vaibhav Vishal.
First Look Trailer
Hansal Mehta unveiled the first look trailer of the series, recently and it promises to be a riveting tale of terror and chaos. The series is said to be revolved around the Somalian Pirates, it is a fictional web show inspired by true events, reportedly.

Along with this, Hansal is also working on a follow-up of his hit web series Scam 1992, which is titled Scam 2003.
Star Cast of Lootere
Going by trailer, the cast members are still under wraps, we see a glimpse of Rajat Kapoor only, who is at the center of the action. However, as per the media claims, it will star Vivek Gomber, Deepak Tijori, Rajat Kapoor, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Amruta Khanvilkar, Gaurav Paswala, Harry Parmar, and Aamir Ali among others.
Lootere Release Date
Lootere was shot in the large ship in Capetown and the locales of Delhi and Ukraine. The makers haven’t unveiled the release date yet, but if reports are to go by, it will be released on Disney+Hostar in Q4 (Oct-Dec) of 2022.

The series is being produced by Shaailesh R Singh under his banner Karma Media and Entertainment. As per the reports, it was shot in Capetown, Delhi, and Ukraine for the 90-day shooting schedule.
On the work front, Hansal Mehta’s forthcoming ventures are Netflix’s Scoop, Scam 2003 (showrunner), Faraaz, Dedh Bigha Zameen (Producer) and an untitled SonyLiv series which is based on the book R&AW written by RK Yadav and will revolve around the journey and exploits of the first chief of India’s foreign intelligence agency named Rameshwar Nath Kao or RN Kao.
