Popular Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi starrer political thriller drama series Maharani will soon be back with its second season in the upcoming months.
The story of the series is inspired by the life journey of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s wife Rabri Devi, from being a homemaker to becoming the Chief Minister of the state during the 1990s.
The debut season, comprising ten episodes, premiered on 28th May 2021, on SonyLIV and got lots of appreciation from the viewers as well as critics.
Now the second season of the series, which is still under development, will soon be back with some new twists and turns.
Maharani 2 Star Cast
Bollywood’s acclaimed actress Huma Qureshi is the female lead in the series, who deserves much appreciation for portraying her role.
Her recent ventures were Zee5’s psychological drama series Mithya and much-hyped Tamil action entertainer Valimai, starring megastar Ajith Kumar in the lead role.
She also made a cameo appearance in the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actress never fails to amaze us.
In the debut season of Maharani, Huma perfectly portrayed Rani Bharti, the wife of Bihar’s CM. In the upcoming season, she will reprise her role alongside Soham Shah, who is also reprising his role as Bheema Bharti, inspired by former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Soham is well-known for acting in masterpieces such as Tumbad, Talvar and Simaran. His national award-winning philosophical drama film Ship of Theseus was made under his own banner Recyclewala Films.
Actors Amit Sial, Pramod Pathak, and Kani Kasruti are more likely to reprise their roles. A few days ago, Special 26 and Mardaani actor Vishwa Bhanu and Ek Thi Begum actress Anuja Sathe also joined the star cast.

It is created by Subhash Kapoor, who has also written the screenplay of the movie along with Nandan Singh, who is also c0- producing the film with Dimple Kharbanda. The series holds the banner of Kangra Talkies and is edited by Kunal Walve.

Maharani 2 Plot
The series revolves around Rani Bharti (Huma Qureshi), the homemaker wife of Bihar’s CM Bheema Bharti (Soham Shah). Things takes a new turn when her husband was forced to resign from his post, which resulted in Rani being a successor of her husband, leaving everyone surprised.
