It has been revealed today that Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhry, was diagnosed with cancer and the news comes as a shocker for everyone. Veteran actor Anupam Kher shared a video in which we can see her head shaved revealing about her being diagnosed with cancer and recovering from it.
The actress broke down while telling her journey and how she keeps this news from her mother. Along with sharing the emotional video, Kher also penned down a heartfelt caption in which he called Chaudhry his Hero. He also said that he called her up to offer an important role in his 525th film titled The Signature and it was when she revealed about this matter.
The good news is that the actress has recovered fully from the disease and is now back on the set to shoot. It is not the first cast, in the past we saw many Bollywood stars diagnosed with cancer. While some succumb to the disease, others turn into heroes, who give us inspiration to never give up and be brave in every difficult situation.

1- Sonali Bendre
On July 4, 2018, the Hum Sath Sath Hain actress revealed on Twitter that she had been diagnosed with metastatic cancer and was undergoing treatment in a New York City Hospital. She eventually battled the disease and turned out victorious. The actress on multiple occasions shared how her positive approach helped him battling the illness and overcome it.

2- Kirron Kher
Veteran actress and politician Kirron Kher, the wife of Anupam Kher, was also diagnosed with a cancer of plasma cells called multiple myeloma, which is an uncommon type of blood cancer in which abnormal plasma cells build up in the bone marrow and form tumours in many bones of the body. The news was shared by Anupam Kher and the Dostana actress’s son Sikandar Kher in a Twitter statement. She is undergoing treatment and has been actively working even after her cancer announcement.
3- Tahira Kashyap
In 2018, Tahira Kashyap, the wife of author and actor Aushmann Khurrana was diagnosed with breast cancer and she herself announced it on Instagram. She came victorious in this battle and since then has been significantly working hard to spread awareness and laud appreciate those who have been bravely battling the disease.
4- Manisha Koirala
Nepali beauty and “Janni Dushman” actress Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in 2012. The actor came victorious against after a three long year battle with the disease in 2015. She underwent treatment in the United States of America. She also launched a biography titled Healed: How Cancer Gave Me a New Life in January 2018 in Mumbai. In the book she opened up about emerging as a survivor in her book.
5- Lisa Ray
Canadian actress Lisa Ray, who is best known for her role in romantic thriller Kasoor. Lisa came to know about her diagnosis back in 2009, she was battling a rare type of cancer of the bone marrow called multiple myeloma. In 2012, soon after she got married to Jason Dehni, her cancer relapsed and she tried to hide it from her husband. She eventually came victorious and won this battle. She revealed this matter in August 2020 while speaking with Kareen Kapoor Khan on her radio show.
