Mollywood superstar Mohan Lal starrer ‘Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea’ had seen its theatrical release on Dec 2 worldwide. The film reached the Rs 40 crore mark on day 4 of its release and is reportedly still doing well at the Box Office.
Moreover, the film also won three National Film Awards in the category of Best Feature Film, Best Costume Design, and Best Special Effects. Marakkar is directed by Padma Shri Awardee filmmaker Priyadarshan, he also co-wrote the screenplay along with Ani Sasi.
Marakkar is backed by Antony Perambavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas in association with the Confident group. It has an ensemble star cast Apart from Mohanlal famous Tamil actor Arjun, known Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, and national awardee South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh.

Though the film has got mixed reviews from the critics, the audience seems to enjoy the film in theatres as box office reports of the film suggest.
Apart from national awards this magnum opus also bagged three awards from the home state, Kerala, in the category of Best Dubbing Artist, Best Choreography, and Special Jury Award.
The cinematography is handled by Tirru, M.S. Aiyyapan Nair is editor and the music is given to Rahul Raj along with Ankit Suri, Lyell Evans Roeder, and Ronnie Raphael. Max Movies, V creations, and Phars Films are the distributors.
