Director Priyadarshan who earlier told in an interview that if he has to wait for another 6 months he will wait but he will release his film only in theatres, ’cause it meant for the theatres.

Now, he seems to be right with what he said in the interview, cause the long-awaited movie Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, or Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, has already collected Rs 100 crores through the advance bookings.

Already Entered into Rs 100 cr Club?

It is said to be the first Indian movie to enter the Rs 100 cr club through early ticket bookings. The news is given by the main lead Malayalam superstar Mohan Lal himself through his social media accounts.

Screen Counts

Talking about the screen counts it will release on 4100 screens worldwide, with 626 plus screens in Kerala state alone, & also it will see its 16000 shows per day.

It is a historical war film set in the 16th century when Portugues challenged the Arab traders for their monopoly over the sea. It is said to be made up of Rs 100 cr.

Hence, the most expensive Malayalam film, It stars apart from Mohanlal Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty playing as Chandroth Panicker, Keerthy Suresh who is coming back in Malayalam films after 7 yrs.

She started her acting career through Malayalam cinema was last seen in the cinema in the 2014 film Ring Master, Since then she has been busy doing films in Tamil & Telugu cinema.

Marakkar Reviews

Talking about the film, It is getting praised for the visuals, the storytelling & the characters from the viewers, though some say the first half of the film is slow but gripping, overall mixed positive reviews.

Marakkar Opening Day Box Office Collection

Now as per our reports, the film opened well in Kerala, becomes the highest opening day grosser in the Malayalam film industry or Mollywood. With 601 screens, 3292 shows, it collected 5.1 Crore in Kerala, 8.50 Cr+ overseas, and 25 lakhs from the rest of India.

Hence the Opening Day (Dec 2) Box office Collections of Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, is around Rs 13 to 14 crores worldwide, given the kind of response it is getting and advance bookings collection.
