Met Gala 2021: 10 Weird Fashion that you Never Imagined

Met Gala 2021 started on 13 Sept. this year, it is a fundraising annual event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s costume institute. It was first started in 1948 by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert. Met Gala is also known as Met Ball, its former names are Costume Institute Gala or Costume Institute Benefit. The ticket price per seat is approx 30,000 US dollars.

The theme for Met Gala 2021 is In America: A lexicon of Fashion, it is sponsored by Instagram and the Headline Performer is Justin Bieber. This is the first time the costume institute is hosting its first two-part exhibition, the first exhibition will run according to this year’s theme, and the other one on next year’s theme In America: An Anthology of Fashion in 2022.

Celebrities like singers, actors, rappers, models, come to the show, wearing clothes according to the theme given to them which they showcase on the Red carpet. It happens during cocktail hour when celebrities were to go to the dinner party.

Celebrities get paid for this by the event’s organizer. The funds were collected through the elite people who come to watch their favorite celeb. The current price per seat is around $30,000 US. Guest Seats are limited to 650 to 700 people.

3- Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne is an English model and actress, she is best known for her film Paper Towns in 2015. She wore a white outfit at Met Gala, “Peg The Patriarchy” was written over her white outfit.

 

4- Asap Rocky

Asap Rocky is an American rapper, his album’s song “L$D” was nominated for the 2016 Grammy awards. He arrived at Met Gala wearing a rainbow blanket, he was with her Girlfriend star singer Rihanna at the event.

5- Pete Davidson

American Comedian, actor, producer Pete Davidson, arrived at the Met Gala wearing a frock-type outfit.

Canadian Singer Shawn Mendes is best known for his album Illuminate which was released in 2016, he was wearing two belts on his pants, and his chest was naked at the event at Met Gala.

9- Naomi Osaka

The star tennis player Naomi Osaka has been ranked at no.1 by the tennis association and is the first Asian player to hold the ranking. She is one of the co-chairs at the Met Gala Event.

10- Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi first debut single “Day n Nite” was a worldwide hit in 2008, he is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. His full name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. He wore a funny skirt-type dress at the event.
