As part of its “Har Dil Filmy” event global OTT giant shared the glimpse of its upcoming Original film including Chakda ‘Xpress, Jogi, Khufia, Qala, Kathal, The Archies, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, “Monica, O My Darling” among others.
Talking about Monica, O My Darling, it is a crime comedy film which is directed by Vasan Bala, known for his Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2018), 83 (2021), and Psycho Raman (2016), etc. In the event, that was held in Mumbai, the makers shared that earlier Sriram Raghavan was the person onboard to direct the film but due to his busy schedules, he couldn’t make it to direct the upcoming film.
The film is penned by Yogesh Chandekar and is produced by Sarita Patil and Sanjay Routray under the banner of Matchbox Shots. On the technical front, Sukesh Vishwanath is cranking the camera, editing is handled by Atanu Mukherjee and Achint Thakkar has composed the music.
Monica, O My Darling Star Cast
The film has a promising star cast and it features actor Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. His most recent release is action thriller HIT: The First Case, which itself is the Hindi adaptation of Telugu blockbuster film of the same name.
Along with him, the film stars acclaimed actress Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte in the female lead roles. Huma’s superhit drama series Maharani returned with its second season on Sony LIV on August 25, 2022 whereas Radhika was most recently seen in psychological thriller Forensic: The Truth Lies Within, the remake of 2020 Malayalam film Forensic.
Along with the lead star cast, the crime comedy drama film also features Radhika Madan, Sikandar Kher, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Bhagavathi Perumal etc. All the actors featured in the film are the powerhouses of talent.

Monica, O My Darling Teaser Out
Netflix dropped a 1-minute long teaser of the film on August 30, 2022, just a day before his birthday. The teaser starts with Rajkummar Rao’s character Jayant telling Nikki (Akansha Rajan Kapoor) that he belongs to a small town named Angola.
As the teaser progresses, it shows Humar Qureshi in a powerful but mysterious role. She can also be seen destroying a tiger statue with a sharp knife in one of the scenes. Further it gives us a glimpse of Radhika Apte giving tips to Jayant on how to narrate a good story.
For a brief moment Sikandar Kher also appeared in the teaser, where he reminds the lead character he is still just a prince of Angola. Although one couldn’t guess what the film has to offer, we can say it would be fun to watch due to the presence of both thriller and comedy.
Monica, O My Darling OTT Release Date
The makers of the film haven’t made any official announcement regarding its release date. However, it is expected to premiere in September/October this year only on Netflix. We will update the information as soon as the makers announce the release date.
