Monster is a much-hyped Malayalam film starring superstar Mohanlal. It is directed by Vysakh and written by Udaykrishna. The film has been in the making since Nov 2021 and is finally out in theatres.
It has Mohanlal, Lakshmi Manchu, Lena, Honey Rose, Sudev Nair, Siddique, K.B. Ganesh Kumar and Johny Antony among others. It is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

Box Office Collection Day 1
Mohanlal’s film sold tickets worth 85.55L, it sells over 55000 tickets in Malayalam for day1. Now going by the early reports, it opened with flying colors at the box office, especially in Kerala.
As per the early trade estimations, it takes a start of 4.5-5 crores gross, domestically which will be considered a good start given the scale of the movie. It locked horns with Nivin Pauly’s Padavettu yesterday, the latter got a lukewarm start but is expected to show growth in the coming days due to WOM.
Monster registered 31.88% overall Malayalam occupancy on Day 1.
Is Monster Banned in UAE?
As per the reports, Monster will have a delayed release in Gulf Countries, which is one of the major markets for Malayalam releases. Recently, it was reported that it has been facing issues owing to the LGBTQ references. However, reports also state that the moviemakers are considering resending the movie for certification in the country after modifying some portions.
Therefore, the release date in UAE has been pushed further as it will take more time for the rescreening and the other formalities to be completed. It was also reported that the ban had been lifted in Bahrain after cutting the 13mins of the movie.
