Directed by Vysakh and written by Udaykrishna, Malayalam film Monster is set to be released on OTT now after theatrical release on the occasion of Diwali. Touted-to-be a crime thriller, the film created lot of buzz as it stars Mollywood megastar Mohanlal in a never-seen-before role but didn’t get success as expected.
The film, produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, began shooting in November 2021 and lasted 55 days. It was wrapped up in January 2022.
Release Date on OTT
The film was released on a large scale worldwide (except Gulf countries) this Diwali, and even before the release, created a lot of buzz. Not only in India, but the film had a grand theatrical release in the USA and UK as well, whereas in Canada it was released in 35 locations.
The film faced a direct clash with the Nivin Pauly-starrer Malayalam action thriller Padavettu. Big Star Mohalal’s Monster didn’t work at Box Office, wrapped under 10 Cr worldwide. The digital rights acquired by Disney+ Hotstar, streaming from 2nd December 2022, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.

Monster Star Cast
Actor Mohanlal, who was last seen in Jeethu Joseph’s mystery thriller film 12th Man, is playing the role of a Sikh man, Lucky Singh, in the movie, and it is the first time in his career he played a Punjabi character.
In the film’s posters, we see the actor sporting a turban and a heavy beard, and in the trailer, which was released a few days ago, we saw him in the dapper look of a Sardar, speaking some dialogues in Punjabi.
Monster also stars Lakshmi Manchu, Lena, Honey Rose, Sudev Nair, Siddique, K.B. Ganesh Kumar, Johny Antony, Arjun Nandhakumar, Kottayam Ramesh, Kailash, Edavela Babu, Biju Pappan among others in key roles.
