Mukul Rohatgi succeeded KK Venugopal and became the 14th Attorney General of India. Currently, a senior advocate at the Supreme court, he has also served as the Additional Solicitor of General of India, where he completed his tenure for three years beginning from 2014 to 2017.
Mukul Rohatgi played a key role in many crucial cases earlier like the 2002 Gujarat riots case. The 66-year-old Senior Advocate belongs to a family of lawyers where his father has been a former High Court judge. 17 August 1955, Mumbai-born Mukul is one of the highest-paid lawyers in our country.
Coming to his academic qualifications, he completed his studies at Government Law College in Mumbai and started practicing it soon after. He took his training from Yogesh Kumar Sabharwal, former CJI in the High Court. In 1993, he became a senior counsel in New Delhi and later became the Additional Solicitor of India in 1999.
Looking at his recent victory with the Aryan Khan’s drug-on-cruise case, Mukul Rohatgi came to Mumbai on Monday, October 25, and represented Khan on his Mumbai High court hearing.
The star kid has been granted bail today after spending more than 2 weeks in jail. Commenting on the same, the Senior Adv said that Aryan was kept in jail for 20 days for no reason and with no evidence. He should have been out earlier and is happy that he is out finally!
Before him, Aryan’s case was taken over by big lawyers like Satish Maneshinde, and Amit Desai, and he became the third name on the list of his legal teams. Mukul Rohatgi is also counted as one of the most expensive lawyers in the legal system.
After experienced veterans like Fali Nariman, Harish Salve, K Parkasaran, Abhishek Singhvi, KK Venugopal, Mukul is the highest-paid lawyer.
