Popular film and television studio Lionsgate has made a quiet yet comfortable entry into the Indian entertainment market. To strengthen its hold on Indian audiences, the studio is developing a variety of webseries and films.
Recently, Lionsgate India Studios announced its second Hindi film, titled Nausikhiye, after the Neetu Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal, and Shraddha Srikanth starrer Letters to Mr. Khanna, which was announced in September.
Touted-to-be an out-and-out laughing riot, Nausikhiye, is directed by Santosh Singh, who worked as an assistant director in movies like Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.
Nausikhiye Star Cast
Produced by Ellipsis Entertainment, the film features a young, talented cast, including Abhimanyu Dassani, Amol Parashar, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead roles.
Dassani, the son of popular 90s actress Bhagyashree, made his acting debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, and he also made a guest appearance in Rajkummar Rao and Huma Qureshi starrer comedy thriller “Monica, O My Darling.”
Amol Parashar is another leading man best known for his roles as Chitvan Sharma in the webseries TVF Tripling and the legendary Indian freedom fighter Sardar Bhagat Singh in Shoojit Sarkar’s critically acclaimed film Sardar Udham.
Shreya Dhanwanthary is well-known for her roles in Telugu films Josh and Sneha Geetham, Hindi films Why Cheat India?, Loop Lapeta, and Chup: The Revenge of the Artist, and web-series such as The Family Man, A Viral Wedding, Scam 1992, and others. She will play the female lead opposite Dassani and Parashar.
About the Film
Written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg, the plot of the film revolves around two wedding crashers who accidentally steal a bride from a wedding, which triggers a crazy cat and mouse game across the countryside.
