Popular Hollywood actor Will Smith slapped the actor, stand-up comedian Chirs Rock at the Oscars on Sunday. As we know Will Smith who was recently seen in the biographical sports movie King Richard copped his first-ever academy award in the category of Best Picture.
But Ahead of receiving the award, the actor made headlines striking his hand on Rock’s face. Chris Rock was presenting an award with a short comedy routine, he cracked a joke on Will’s wife Jada Pinkett about her baldness.
Will seems didn’t like the joke, he strode up to the stage and slapped Rock on his face, further he warned him that keep his wife’s name out of his mouth.
Further when Will was awarded for his film King Richard which is a biographical sports drama about the legendary tennis players Serena and Venus Williams’s father. He accepted his mistake in a five-minute-long speech and said that hoped they invite him back to the ceremony.
Let you know that after the gala ceremony, LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) said that Rock has declined to file a police report. As soon as the incident came about, fans & celebrities took to Twitter showing their reaction on the same.
The incident got a mixed reaction, many were seen supporting Will that he did right standing up for his wife as she is suffering from Alopecia
Areata is an autoimmune disorder that she revealed in 2018.
Conversely, many bashed him saying that violence is not acceptable, and demanded to tack back the award from the actor and ban him from the Oscars.
