After giving five superhit seasons, the highly-anticipated historical American British fiction and fantasy drama series Outlander will soon be back with its exciting season six.
The series is based on the ongoing novel series of the same name which was written by American writer Diana Gabaldon, who has written nine out of a planned total of ten volumes.
The first season of the series premiered on August 9, 2014, on Starz and was based on the first of the novel series titled Outlander.
Similarly, the second season was based on the second novel Dragonfly in Amber, the 13-episode third season was based on Voyager, another 13-episode fourth season was based on the 12-episode fifth novel was based on The Fiery Cross.
In the same way, the upcoming second season of the series is based on the sixth of the novel series titled A Breath of Snow and Ashes, published on September 27, 2005, by Delacorte Press.
It will further show the story of the struggle of Claire, who was a British combat nurse during World War II and her 18th-century husband Jamie Frazer facing the turmoil and the politics of the forthcoming American Revolution.
Outlander season 6 Release Date
After the two-year-long wait since the 5th season premiered, the fans will witness its exciting sixth season at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m/ CT on Sunday, March 6, 2022, on the Starz platform.
This season will premiere 8 episodes, contrary to all previous seasons which consisted of more than 10 episodes, however, the first episodes of the season will have a runtime of 90 minutes.
The announcement of the wrap of the filming of this upcoming season was made on June 1, 2021, on the occasion of World Outlander day, which marks the day Diana Gabaldon published her first book.

Outlander season 6 Cast & Crew
This season will feature the Irish actress Caitriona Balfe as Claire Beauchamp Fraser and Scottish actor Sam Heughan as James MacKenzie Fraser or Jamie in the lead roles.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of Jamie, Claire, and the rest of Fraser’s crew dealing with new danger, new arrival, new threats of the revolutionary war.
