Padavettu is a Malayalam political drama film which is directed and written by Liju Krishna, made his directorial debut with this movie.
The shooting of the film was started in February 2020 in North Kerala and was concluded on March 15, 2022 in Kannur. The writer/director revealed that the film was shot in his native village Maloor, in Kannur Kerala and around a thousand people from the village were trained in a crash course in acting for the film.

Kerala State Film Awards and Filmfare South Awards winning actor Nivin Pauly is playing the main protagonist in this film. The actor was last seen in the satire film Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, which was released on Disney+Hotstar in November last year.
The actor has many projects in the pipeline for this year including period action drama Thuramukham, Maha Veeryar and many others. Along with him, the film also stars Aditi Balan who had previously worked in movies like Yennai Arindhaal, Aruvi, Kutty Story and Cold Case, in crucial roles.
The film also features Malayalam film industry’s versatile actress, filmmaker, singer and dancer Manju Warrier along with Shine Tom Chacko, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, Manoj Omen, Ramya Suresh and others.

Padavettu is bankrolled by Yoodlee Films, which is the cinematic arm of music label Saregama in association with Sunny Wayne’s production house Sunny Wayne Productions. The film marks Yoodlee Films’s foray in the Malayalam cinema. The production house bankrolled critically acclaimed films like Ajji, Nobleman, K.D. Chhote Nawab and many others.
If we talk ab0ut technical work, Deepak D. Menon is cranking the camera while Shafique Mohamed Ali is handling editing. The film’s music and background score is composed by Filmfare Award winning music director Govind Menon.

The makers of this political drama announced its release date along with unveiling the new poster that features Nivin in fierce and dangerous look holding a melee weapon behind barbed wires, had a grand theatre release on Oct 21.

About the Film
The film will show the story of the oppressed section of Northern Kerala and how the main protagonist in the film, played by Nivin Pauly brings the revolution and raises his voice for justice. It will show the tale of hope, resurgence and courage and the protagonist’s journey from zero to hero in a believable way.
