Popular OTT streaming giant always comes up with something unique and promising for its viewers, that is why it is becoming more popular day by day. It delivers different varieties of content whether it is web series or films, it always delivers best.
On Thursday, April 28, 2022, the platform announced its more than 40 upcoming projects- original web-series and feature films, The announcement was made during its event in Mumbai. Apart from revealing the name of some fresh projects, the streamer also announced the renewal of its runway hits including super hit comedy-drama Panchayat.
The 8-episode web-series, backed by The Viral Fever (TVF), for Prime Video, premiered 2 years ago, on April 3, 2020. It received highly positive response form critics and viewers, who praised the performances of the leading actors, scripting, direction and major technical aspect. Now the series is all set for its renewal for the second episode.
Panchayat 2 Cast & Crew
The Viral Fever and Amazon Prime Video are again joining hands for the second season of acclaimed comedy series Panchayat. Almost the entire cast and crew is returning for Season 2 including Chandan Kumar as writer, Deepak Kumar Mishra as director and Arunabh Kumar as producer, who is backing it under his TVF.
The star cast of the previous season is all set to reprise their respective roles again. Actor Jitendra Kumar of “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan” fame will reprise his role as Panchayat Secretary Abhishek Tripathi. The same way, veteran actress Neena Gupata will play as Sarpanch/Pradhan Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav will be back as Manju Devi’s husband Brij Bhushan Dubey, Chandan Roy as Vikas, Faisal Malik as Vice Sarpanch Prahlad Dubey and Sanvikaa will feature in the second season.
Panchayat 2 Release Date
This much-awaited desi drama was earlier going to be premiered on May 20th, but owing to the availability of its pirated version on the notorious pirated sites, the OTT platform had to make available the series two days ahead of the scheduled date.

Plot of the Series
The story of the series revolves around a city boy Abhishek Tripathi, who is an engineering graduate, who didn’t get placement in the final year of college and chose to do a low income job as Panchayat secretary in a remote village called Phulera, as there was no option left after graduating. Being a city boy, he couldn’t adjust to the environment of the village and decided to prepare for the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam side by side with his job.
The first season shows his clashes with the Sarpanch of village Manju Devi and her husband, the former Sarpanch, Brij Bhushan Dubey. The last episode of the first season hinted that Abhishek got attracted towards Manju Devi’s daughter Rinky. The second season will pick the story up from where it was left off in the first season.
